Welcome to First Presbyterian Church!

I've been the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Emporia since June of 2006. We worship in a historic building in downtown Emporia. The stained glass in our sanctuary is glorious! The building is made of limestone and harkens back to the days when churches were built to look different from the surrounding architecture.

Emporia is a community that contains many hidden gems as well as many hidden opportunities for mission. Our community has changed a lot in the last 20 years. We are growing more diverse as a population each year. There are no specific numbers, but a large percentage of our population is Latino. We are home to extensions of several large corporations with an emphasis of food production, food service and manufacturing. Many trains pass through downtown Emporia each day and tractor trailers can be seen coming into town in large numbers. Emporia is a transportation hub for Kansas. Four blocks from the church, you will find Emporia State University. ESU is home to about 5,000 students and they bring a distinct flavor to our community.
